Christian group says ‘dinosaurs a lie, ban them from school books’

Video from the Christians Against Dinosaurs web site. Yes, seriously.

A woman who posted an anti-dinosaur rant on social media said she wants to see the U.S. school system stop teaching children about dinosaurs. She, and a group she’s part of, don’t think they ever existed and believe teaching about them is harming kids.

Dinosaurs makes kids “bestiality-minded”

The mom, who identifies herself as CADministry, posted a strongly worded diatribe about dinosaurs and the harm they do children, her kids included, on a site called mumsnet.com. It’s not only been viewed by people in a number of countries, it’s also been the brunt of jokes.

You decide if it’s deserving of mockery:

“I’m really concerned about dinosaurs,” CADministry began. “And I think something needs to be done. The science behind them is pretty flimsy, and I for one do not want my children being taught lies. Did you know that nobody had even heard of dinosaurs before the 1800s, when they were invented by curio-hungry Victorians?

“Aside from the educational aspect, dinosaurs are a very bad example for children,” she continued. “My children’s school, several children were left in tears after one of their classmates (who had evidently been exposed to dinosaurs), became bestially-minded and ran around the classroom roaring and pretending to be a dinosaur. Then he bit three children on the face. One poor girl has been left with a severely dented nose and the whole class was left traumatized by this horrible display.”

Dinosaurs and family values

CADministry also noted, and this surely rankles her a great deal, as well it should, that dinosaurs have a “total lack of family values.” Not something that has been brought to mind previous and surely a point that everyone must now consider seriously.

ABC News 13 reports the woman is part of a 4,000 strong group that goes by the title ‘Christians Against Dinosaurs.’ It’s difficult to know if they are a serious group, or for that matter if CADministry means all that she writes; however, ABC News said that the group is lobbying to have dinosaurs removed from the school curriculum.

Christians tend to accept dinosaurs existed but to make them jibe with their religious beliefs, say dinosaurs and humans existed at the same time. Archeologists will tell you dinosaurs first walked the Earth 230 million years ago and became extinct 66 million years ago. A human-like creature first appeared about 2.3 million years ago, though us humans didn’t really show up until somewhere around 250,000 to 400,000 years ago.

Just don’t try telling all that to CADministry.

  1. Dinosaurs are a 19th century invention. Has is never crossed anyone’s mind, at all, why these things were completely unknown until the mid-19th century? Human beings have been digging and excavating and exploring for thousands of years. It would make more sense if there were bones that had been discovered in the 5th century, or the 15th century – in places like China, or Greece, or Syria, or Russia, but no. They were supposedly discovered by 19th century British men, and then, for the last 150 years, they keep finding more and more – everywhere! Wow!

People do not seem to realize that the “bones” displayed in the museums are fakes. They don’t seem to understand that dinosaur skulls have rarely been claimed to have been found. Entire animals are postulated based on smaller bones, and fragments. So they have an elephant femur, and then they actually will fabricate the rest of the “dinosaur” based on this one bone, or a few fragments. It’s absurd.

The “bones” are supposedly kept in vaults to “protect them from air” as if that makes any sense at all. Fossilized bones (read: rocks carved out of rocks) that are millions of years old – threatened by the destructive force of “air.” What a bunch of nonsense.

I am not basing any of this on the Bible. I used to think dinosaurs were real, too, I mean, why not? But after coming across some strange statements by so-called paleontologists, I looked into the matter for myself, and after 5 years or so, I understand now how they faked it and why. I suggest to anyone that is still under the delusion that giant lizards (ha!) used to walk around the earth and then went extinct somehow to please do some critical thinking and research.

      so-called paleontologists

This coming from someone who has ‘looked into it’.

      Idiocy in action.

      • Wilbert E. Clark III says:

I noticed that you couldn’t refute any points that I made, nor could you answer any of the questions I posed. Until you do so, you and your comment are “idiocy in action” whatever the hell that means, anyway.

Giant ancient secret (until modern-day excavations somehow discovered them) extinct monster lizards…..give me a break, people.

  2. Tim says:

This is someone who is simply ignorant of the young-earth creationist position. I have been a YEC for years, and have read TONS of material from creationists, and I have never heard anything like this! This is simply unbelievable and does a great damage to Christians who are trying to be logical and informed in their faith.

  3. tildeb says:

The way the person’s mouth moves suggests to me she may have had a stroke or one or more TIAs, which might explain the lack of coherent thinking.

  4. My childhood would have been totally empty without the dinosaurs.

See, back in the day, we didn’t have Mutant Ninja Turtles or Megan Foxxy.
