  1. Tim says:

    You do realize the majority of those institutions are normally owned and operated by Christian organizations… right?

  2. tildeb says:

    Just ignore the code of Hammurabi, SoM, and then blame delusional atheists for whatever facts smears your god.

    • tildeb,

      Bringing up the Code of Hammurabi has so nothing to do with this discussion that you must be using some super atheist hallucination inducer.

    • tildeb;

      Here from the Code of Hammurabi on slaves:

      Law #15: “If any one take a male or female slave of the court, or a male or female slave of a freed man, outside the city gates, he shall be put to death.”

      Sounds like a law from the American South before Generals Grant and Sherman burnt it to the ground.

      The Code of Hammurabi protected the institution of slavery at the very center of power.

  3. Linuxgal says:

    One might very well blame God for slavery when his alleged Word outlines the rules for having slaves, rather than forbids it.

    • Linux,

      Rules where before there were none is a vast improvement.

      God approached barbarian man at the level of barbarian and then began the millennia-long struggle to civilize him.

  4. Blaming poverty and misfortune on affluent people makes about as much sense as blaming God for slavery.
