I Stand Mistaken

In my recent post “Top 5 Good & Bads from the Science and Engineering Indicators Report“, I listed five bad quotes from the Science and Engineering Indicators 2014 Congressional report. However, I looked it over again and found this.

“…whether the sun moves around the Earth, whether the
Earth moves around the sun (correct), or neither the sun nor
the Earth moves (Europe correct: 80%, United States correct:
82%)”

Pie

WHAT. 12% of people doesn’t sound like a lot, but this is talking about elementary level physics. This is something you know before you go into preschool. And Europe is actually worse than us! If it doesn’t sound like a lot, this is a pie chart of what 82 and 18 look like. The picture is worth a thousand words. This is inexcusable.
