  1. says:

I was wondering when or where the gold tablets of con man Joseph Smith and the LDS Mormons would fit in…

  2. bradbp says:

huge advances in mathematics were made by the chinese and indians – and without mathematics science is lost without a language.

  3. seldon says:

Scientific thought does not belong on a list of religions. Perhaps on a list of the mind’s approach to its world, but then the chart should double in size to include the dozens of philosophical schools of thought that would, arguably, “bridge the gap” between reason and superstition…

  4. Wil C. Fry says:

I’m actually more curious about where this chart came from (who made it). I’d like to use it, but would like to provide proper credit for it.

  5. tildeb says:

Why on earth would the scientific method be included as an offshoot of christianity and islam?

    • DeltaV says:

Humans first invented gods. Then had to invent science when the gods weren’t working.

      • tildeb says:

Ah. Took them long enough… to realize the knowledge derived from believing in the explanatory power of Oogity Boogity remained at a constant accumulation of zero. One would think this was a wee bit of a hint about faith-based belief’s explanatory power… or its utter lack.

So your explanation should have the scientific method as the offshoot from ALL religious beliefs listed because none work to produce knowledge. Because science doe produce knowledge, it doesn’t belong on any list of the religious evolutionary tree. It belongs not in some tree but in a different kettle entirely… something to do with fish, I think.

    • Wil C. Fry says:

Likely because the men credited with the modern scientific method (for example, Roger Bacon and Alhazen) were primarily Christians and Muslims.

      • Tom Truthseeker says:

Where does Satanism and Lucerferian fit in? Seems to be missing as nearly everything on this chart fits into those two categories. I never liked ism’s. Lucifer and God exist and 90% of all the nonsense is to keep you divided, further enlave you, and for the benefit of the deceivers who give you many perceptions and reality to follow, but always try to make sure you choose one of the paths offered and never your own. Here is what THEY(The Hierarchy Enslaving You) and their paid professional lying and deceived helpers attempt to hide from you…
